Family is the backbone
of our Business

Founded In 1972

In 1972, David A. Phillips founded D.P. Tool & Machine, Inc. in the Rochester, NY area, starting out as the sole employee in a small shop in Livonia. Through determination, innovation, and a commitment to quality, the company steadily grew. In 1999, D.P. Tool relocated to a newly built 58,000 square foot facility in Avon, New York, located in Crossroads Commerce Park on Tec Drive, approximately 20 minutes south of Rochester.

To meet growing customer demand and support future projects, a 40,000 sq. ft. addition was completed in 2016 — bringing our total manufacturing space to 100,000 square feet. Today, D.P. Tool employs a skilled and growing workforce of over 100 team members, with employment levels continuing to rise as new programs are launched.

Continuing The Family Legacy

The company continues to grow through three generations of Phillips family leadership. Today, second-generation leaders Peter E. Phillips, CEO, and David C. Phillips, President, guide the company alongside third-generation Vice Presidents David S. Phillips and Dalton Phillips, continuing the family legacy while leading D.P. Tool into the future.

Built on the combined talents of our family and dedicated employees, D.P. Tool has grown into a trusted manufacturing partner for a wide range of industries — including electric utility, material handling, power transmission, racing, aerospace, defense, medical, optics, food processing, agriculture, textile, automotive, mass transportation, and more.

Though our roots are in New York, we proudly serve customers across the United States, from the Northeast to the West Coast. To support continued growth and customer accessibility, we now have a presence in Tennessee: Demonbreun Street in Nashville.

We support Just-In-Time (JIT) and Kanban-type deliveries, offering flexible, on-time solutions tailored to our customers’ production needs.

D.P. Tool & Machine, Inc. Conflict Minerals Policy Statement

D.P. Tool & Machine, Inc. supports ending the violence and human rights violations in the mining of certain minerals from a location described as the “Conflict Region”, which is situated in the eastern portion of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and surrounding countries. As a result the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (“SEC”) adopted final rules to implement reporting and disclosure requirements related to “conflict minerals,” as directed by the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act of 2010. The rules require manufacturers who file certain reports with the SEC to disclose whether the products they manufacture or contract to manufacture contain “conflict minerals” that are “necessary to the functionality or production” of those products.

The definition of “conflict minerals” refers to gold, as well as tin, tantalum, and tungsten regardless of where they are sourced, processed or sold. The U.S. Secretary of State may designate other minerals in the future. We support these requirements to further the humanitarian goal of ending violent conflict in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and in surrounding countries, which has been partially financed by the exploitation and trade of “conflict minerals”.

OUR COMMITMENT:

 1. Support the goal and objectives of the U.S. legislation on the supply of “conflict minerals”.

 2. We will not knowingly procure specified metals that originate from facilities in the

“Conflict Region” that are not certified as “conflict free”.

 3. We will ensure compliance with these requirements, and ask our suppliers to undertake reasonable due diligence with their supply chains to assure that specified metals are being sourced only from:

 • Mines and smelters outside the “Conflict Region” or

 • Mines and smelters which have been certified by an independent third party as “conflict free” if sourced within the “Conflict Region”.

As applicable we will request that our suppliers provide written evidence documenting that raw materials used to produce gold, tin, tantalum and tungsten, used in the materials to manufacture components and products supplied to D.P. Tool & Machine, Inc., originate from outside the “Conflict Region” or if they originate from within the “Conflict Region”, that the mines or smelters be certified as “conflict free” by an independent third party. The goal is to ensure that only “conflict free” materials and components are used in products that we procure. If we discover the use of these minerals produced in facilities that are considered to be “non-conflict free”, in any material, parts or procured components, we will take appropriate actions to transition the product with a “conflict free” supplier.

Sincerely,
Peter E. Phillips
President
